When I first arrived in the Netherlands in 2017, I thought I was ready for anything. Fresh from Australia, first time travelling in Europe, full of curiosity and excitement! What I didn’t expect was how overwhelming the “simple stuff” would be. How do I open a bank account without a BSN? But I need a bank account to get a job… but I need a job to get a BSN… what?
I got a job quickly, but I struggled to find meaningful connections. Most of my social life revolved around coworkers or other expats who were also figuring out their new lives here. I learned Dutch with Duolingo, but once I got here, speaking to Dutch people felt scary and nearly impossible! I definitely got laughed at more than once. And then I was hit with burnout. I should have seen it coming really, but I was determined to make things work. Working late nights, feeling overwhelmed and unsupported while working for an American tech company and balancing my business. I felt stuck, exhausted and uncertain.
I struggled through all those things on my own, but I knew I couldn’t let it stay that way.
Deep inner work, training in hypnotherapy, and the support of powerful tools like RTT helped me along my way. Not only did I heal my burnout, but I broke through so many limitations to create the life I desired when coming here.
Today, I feel Amsterdam is truly my home. I have wonderful, deep friendships (two of my best friends are Dutch!). I speak Dutch confidently in day to day life, and I’ve grounded myself into a life that feels good, stable, energizing.
And now, I help other expats do the same!

Hypnotherapy is a combination of utilizing various therapeutic tools, alongside with the process of putting someone in hypnosis. Going ‘into hypnosis’ is a very natural state (see “Is Hypnotherapy Safe?”). It is something that happens to us naturally, and we have all experienced it.
By using hypnosis, we bypass the conscious “thinking” mind. This is the part of us that overthinks, criticizes and rationalises our emotions and feelings. We cannot process our emotions while we are in a thinking mind, so by putting this part aside we can focus on getting to the root of the problem and resolving it at it’s core. This is where the deep transformation starts and allows true internal change to happen.
The form of hypnotherapy I will be using is called Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT). That means we will also be focusing on releasing any limiting beliefs and their related emotions, using various therapeutic tools. You will then receive a customised recording from me to listen to for the following 4 weeks. This recording includes everything you need to hear in order to reprogram your thoughts, beliefs and patterns for permanent change in your life!

RTT helps uncover the root causes of emotional and psychological challenges, such as anxiety, procrastination, and low self-esteem, and rewires the subconscious mind for positive transformation. It’s designed to produce quick results by addressing deep-seated beliefs and patterns, offering a powerful, personalized path to healing and growth.

Yes! Hypnotherapy and hypnosis are perfectly safe in the right circumstances. Infact, your brain goes into a state of ‘hypnosis’ all on it’s own, multiple times per day. Going ‘into hypnosis’ is simply the state of you brain going from an active and alter Beta brainwave, to a calm and introspective Alpha brainwave.
This can be experienced when you drive home from work for the 100th time, on autopilot without having to take conscious action. It can also be experienced just after waking up or after a deep relaxation or meditation.
Most importantly, you are always in control! I cannot make you say or do anything you do not want to do. All suggestions are always based on your own requests and goals, and you can take yourself out of hypnosis at any time by simply opening your eyes.
People with certain conditions are contraindicated, and should exercise caution before exploring hypnotherapy as a tool. Anyone who suffers with epilepsy, seizures, schizophrenia or psychosis should not participate in hypnotherapy without explicit written consent from your treating practitioner.

Absolutely! Online therapy and hypnotherapy are just as effective as in-person sessions, with the added benefit of allowing you to remain in the comfort and safety of your own home. This can enhance relaxation and make it easier to fully engage in the process. Additionally, online sessions eliminate the need to travel after possibly experiencing a significant emotional release, which can often feel draining. Instead, you can rest and process the session’s insights in a familiar and calming environment, making online therapy a convenient and transformative option.

Anyone can be hypnotised! But everyone experiences hypnotherapy differently. Some people are more visual, while others receive insights by listening or knowledge coming to them in the hypnotic state. I will work with you to ensure that we tap into the way information comes to you most easily.
Although, hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool, its effectiveness can vary based on individual factors. Most importantly is the individuals willingness to change and invest in taking action towards their goals. I cannot make the changes for you, I can only be your guide and support. You must be ready and committed to make change in your life.
